Five fold guidance
Five slokas from The Bhagavad Gita
karmany evadhikaras te ma phalesu kadacana
ma karma-phala-hetur bhur ma te sango ’stv akarmani II:47
"You have a right to perform your prescribed duty, but you are not entitled to the fruits of action. Never consider yourself the cause of the results of your activities, and never be attached to not doing your duty."
uddhared atmanatmanam natmanam avasadayet
atmaiva hy atmano bandhur atmaiva ripur atmanah VI:5
"One must deliver himself with the help of his mind, and not degrade himself. The mind is the friend of the conditioned soul, and his enemy as well."
aham atma gudakesha sarva-bhutasaya-sthitah
aham adis ca madhyam ca bhutanam anta eva ca X:20
"I am the Supersoul, O Arjuna, seated in the hearts of all living entities. I am the beginning, the middle and the end of all beings."
ahankaram balam darpam kamam krodham parigraham
vimucya nirmamah santo brahma-bhuyaya kalpate XVIII:53
"free from false ego, false strength, false pride, lust, anger, and acceptance of material things, free from false proprietorship, and peaceful—such a person is certainly eligible to be elevated to the position of self-realization."
yatra yogeshvarah krsno yatra partho dhanur-dharah
tatra srir vijayo bhutir dhruva nitir matir mama XVIII:78
"Wherever there is Krishna, the master of all mystics, and wherever there is Arjuna, the supreme archer, there will also certainly be opulence, victory, extraordinary power, and morality. That is my opinion."
